The Coach Education Unit held an insightful U-15 Player Education Program at the High-Performance Center, R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium (RPICS), for players from Western Province North Outer (Gampaha) Zone 3 on the 30th of October between 9:30am to 11:30am.

Spearheaded by experienced Coach Educator Nilantha Wimalaweera, the session was also enriched by the expertise of Harsha Adikari, Provincial Coach for Colombo North Outer, and Ramitha Perera, District Coach Colombo North Outer. Coach Wimalaweera thoughtfully structured the program to engage the young players through group-based competitions, where they were divided into three teams and encouraged to challenge each other in friendly but intense drills. With the aid of video analyses, instructional discussions, and practical lessons, the players were trained not only in cricket techniques but also in life skills like discipline and empathy. By integrating lessons on personal responsibility and awareness within the context of cricket, Wimalaweera emphasized the importance of these qualities on and off the field. The program was designed to inspire holistic growth, helping young athletes recognize that the values learned in cricket, such as teamwork, respect, and resilience, can impact their lives far beyond the sport.
